Sustainability

Picture
Sustainable flooring materials are becoming more and more mainstream, and we are committed to aiding in green building efforts wherever and whenever possible.

Whether you are you considering a more "green" floor covering alternative, your project is seeking certification through the "LEED" rating system, or if you would you like to know how one flooring product compares environmentally with another.

United Floor Company can assist in the following ways:

  • We are knowledgeable about many of the sustainable flooring options available on the market today.  Ask us about Linoleum, Bamboo and Cork flooring, Ceramic Tile, Carpet, and Carpet tile.
  • Our showrooms are kept up to date with products that showcase the latest in sustainable design.  We can help you compare several products to find the one best suited to your project's unique needs.
  • We are doing our part to reduce the amount of trash in our landfills. We recycle all of our cardboard and scrap paper. Because so much of our materials arrive packaged in cardboard boxes, this really adds up! We also return all of our old showroom samples to the manufacturers for recycling.
  • Several carpet manufacturers will now accept old commercial carpet for recycling. If your project involves commercial carpet replacement, ask us about these recycling programs to see if your old carpet qualifies.
  • United Floor Company has worked on dozens of LEED certified projects over the last several years. We are well versed in the documentation process, and will make sure you receive from us the exact information you need for your LEED project.
